Every now and then, a story comes along where one seemingly small decision changes everything, and that's exactly what drew me into this one. Watching Cage build what he believes is a device to protect the people he loves, only to realize it can open a doorway without bringing anything back, creates an emotional tension that never lets up. The idea itself is fascinating, but it's Cage's good intentions that make the story so compelling.

The Box Between Worlds was a really enjoyable science fiction read that pulled me in with its mix of invention, mystery, and adventure. I liked following Cage’s journey as his creation becomes something far bigger than he ever expected, forcing him and his family to face choices they never imagined. The discovery of Tapuat was one of my favorite parts, with its unfamiliar landscapes and the feeling of stepping into the unknown. The story balances the excitement of exploring another world with the emotional connection of family and survival. This is one I’ll be recommending to my book club because I think it will lead to some great conversations.
